Is it Spring Yet??
Hello to everybody in Area 4! Hope you
are all doing well and ready for spring! Has this been a
crazy winter with all the colds, flu and weird weather? I’m
ready for the warm weather, birds chirping and flowers
blooming of spring!
I wanted to write and encourage
everybody to attend our Area 4 Education day on Saturday,
April 12th. David and Sandi Wright will be our
facilitators for the day and I am so looking forward to all
the wonderful classes Janice has once again assembled! The
information for registration is on the website
http://www.area4harmonyinc.org and I would encourage
all of you to attend – it will be a wonderful day of
learning, singing and seeing our Area 4 friends.
I am also looking forward to AC&C this
year June 12-15th and with our hostess chapter,
Misty River Music Makers, putting on a theme of Misty
Magical Mystery Tour, Three Days of Peace and Music – how
fun is this going to be??? And who doesn’t still have their
shades and bell bottoms to wear!! The ‘60’s rocked and this
weekend will too!
I encourage every chapter to come and
be a part of this groovy weekend – let’s compete and make it
a ‘far out’ time!!
Calling all quartets – please get
registered and ready for contest too!! What better way to
help your chapter than form a quartet and sing for your
sisters in Harmony! You can do it!
Area 4 has once again been asked to
participate in the Harmony Explosion camp. It will be held
in Marion, IN in July. I will send out information as I
receive it. Last year we sent two girls and I would like to
see us send more. How about chapters forming scholarships
to promote their youth and send them to camp?
HITS scholarships are also available
for directors, assistant directors and youth. Please see
the Area 4 website or the Harmonyinc.org site for more
information. This $500 scholarship would cover your all
events pass to attend HITS – I would encourage all
directors, and assistant directors to apply! Youth members
– this is an awesome week of instruction and singing – you
don’t want to miss – apply now!
I will be having my Spring Area 4
council meeting in St. Charles, IL in conjunction with Area
Education Day. My meeting will be on Friday, April 11th
at the church starting at 7:00 p.m. All presidents should
plan to attend or send a representative.
Please let me know too, how your
chapter is doing with Operation Sparkplug. We are winding
down with this initiative and I would like your feedback on
what went well with your chapter.
